"You know, I feel kind of silly in asking this, but would you like to grab a cup of coffee? I realize it doesn’t make any sense but I feel a strong need to be in your company. Would you be interested?" My heart did a double take. He had voiced the same feelings I had, this desire to be near him. It was new for me but I didn’t want to lose it. I smiled. "Yes. I would love to. Let me drop off Bo’s lunch, and I’ll be right out." He held the door open for me while I floated to the office, where I was greeted by Mrs. Porter, the school secretary. I handed her the lunchbox and quickly returned. "Just in case you were wondering," he began, "my name is Phil Mullens, and I am pleased to meet you." "Hello Phil," I retorted with a mock curtsy. "My name is Eva Jones, and I too am pleased to meet you. I guess we have our children to thank for our chance meeting," I gushed. As we walked away from the school, his hand reached around my waist. Instantly I went weak in the knees. My heart was elated, pumping away with a renewed vitality. We decided on a nearby café where I phoned work to let Kit know I wouldn’t be in until much later. While drinking tea, we learned a lot about each other and shared common stories of single parent concerns and the guilt of working so much that went along with it. We learned both Aro and my son were in the same grade and in classes next to one another. The more we talked the more my whole body, spirit, and soul seemed uplifted. I was certain I was glowing. Something inside told me Phil and I would be seeing a lot more of each other. Today was the start of a romance, inspired by a Bo and Aro.
