Handing down beliefs and customs from one generation to the next is what makes wedding traditions particularly special.  Every culture, geographic location, and historic period have their own unique traditions in the preparation and actual day of the wedding ceremony or feast.

The Amish have special traditions in the celebration of marriage.  Ancient Rome celebrated the marriage of man and woman in their unique way.  No matter the time, place, or culture, wedding traditions have been around since the ancients.
