The Beauty of
Change
by Kaye Hatfield
If
you are one of my Historical Column or Book Reviews Café readers, I think you
will enjoy this column. My goal is to provide you articles which
will deal with changes in our lives, how best to incorporate the changes without
being destroyed by them, and to hopefully come out on the other side being a
stronger, happier, more beautiful person.
I am looking forward to hearing your comments,
questions, and thoughts regarding this column. If you have questions, which I am
unable to answer, I will do my best to research and acquire a helpful answer for
you through various resources available to me.
You may reach me at kayehatfield@aol.com.

Nothing Stays the Same
Change is inevitable, and I have found that accepting this fact is paramount
to dealing with it. A phrase that became very important to me in my early 30s,
and one that I have held close to my heart for many years, is "It is not
what happens to you in your life that makes you who you are but how you deal
with it."
Our Looks
"This section of The Beauty of Change column deals with our physical
looks/appearance. We have more control over this area of our life than in some
of the others."
Our Surroundings
I love walking in the door of my home in the evening
and shedding the cares of the day. I look at my home as a haven/paradise created
for my pleasure and relaxation.
Support Systems
When I think back on my life, I started to understand the value of
friendships...Consequently, I opened up
more in my friends’ presence and was open to their opinions, thoughts,
experiences and values. As we exchanged thoughts, ideas, and concerns, we also
developed feelings for each other and they accepted me.
