There are many resources available to the romance reader that can make her romance reading experience richer. Whether you are looking for your favorite author’s next novel or a web-site to glance at a review, information is readily available for you to use.

Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Moe: Which Book Should I Buy?

Do you want to know who and what is being published for the month? Are you curious about how well a novel is being received? Check out these resources for book reviews and other items of interest--

Romantic Times: Book Club: (www.romantictimes.com) Provides a comprehensive listing of books and accompanying reviews. A subscription is only $29.95 per year for 12 issues or copies are available in the bookstore.

EHarlequin.com: If you enjoy reading the series books, make sure and visit the Harlequin site. A search for book title and author feature is available. In addition, a newsletter, biography/links on authors, articles, and a community discussion group is on-line.

The Word on Romance: (www.thewordonromance.com) The Word on Romance specialty is book reviews. The site also provides author interviews and contest links. Authors can submit a book review request. The Word on Romance also has their own "Rose" award whereby at year-end, site reviewers select from nominated books for the Rose Award.

A Romance Review: (www.aromancereview.com/news) A Romance Review offers book reviews, author interviews, columns, articles and a myriad of romance related topics. Also, if you're interested in working with the site, you can submit your area of interest at http://www.aromancereview.com/helpwanted.phtml.

All About Romance: (www.allaboutromance.com) All About Romance is packed full of informative categories for the romance reader. Numerous articles on history, reviews, and "Coming Attractions" is a must see as it conveniently lists all the romance books hitting the shelf on a particular month! (Bessie Makris, a librarian from Fort Worth, Indiana handles this labor of love).

Romance Web-sites for the Romantic at Heart

Enjoy perusing some web-sites that cater to the romance reader.

Historical Romance Writers: (www.historicalromancewriters.com/index.cfm) Historical Romance Writers is a site for readers of historical romance to check out. The site has book reviews, articles, historical time periods listed, writing resources for authors, and a newsletter.

Romance Reader at Heart: (www.romancereaderatheart.com) Romance Reader at Heart is a site devoted to lovers of historical romance featuring author profiles, books, chatboard, fashions, interviews, romance cover models, timelines, trivia, author directories and more!

Finding An Author On the Web

If you are looking for a specific author on the Internet, you have several alternatives to locate your quarry--

Alternative #1: Visit the web-site of the publisher who released the author’s book. Typically, an author’s biography and/or web-site link is provided.

Alternative #2: Input the author’s name in a search engine. Include the words "romance author" and the title of their book (if available). Results of the search will bring up their web-site (if the author has one) and other sites where the name of the author is mentioned. (Example: interviews, articles or book reviews).
