Sisters

There can be nothing more special than the bond that can develop between sisters.  We have been so fortunate to discover antique photos that display sisters of our past.  Although these ladies have passed into history, their kinship lives on in these precious photographs.

The only documentation we noted on this photograph was "three Marlins".  What a marvelous picture.  With bows neatly tied at their throat, these sisters pose serenely for the photographer.

Although better visible in the original, the sister at the far right is wearing a delicate charm bracelet on her left wrist.  It also appears that the two sisters on the right are wearing wedding rings.

Two sisters.jpg (24169 bytes)We were thrilled with this photograph.  These ladies look like twins.  Note they are wearing similar bodices and collars, too.

The photograph was taken by A. H. Mackenzie.  As is typical with many photos, there are no names written on the back.  Remember!  If you want your descendents to know the identity of the subjects of your photos, write down the date and name.  This information can be invaluable!

This photograph is very well preserved.  The details are vivid, the color (black and white) crisp.

The original photo provides a close view of the lace collar and stitch work on the bodice of the sister in the back.

Once again, we can benefit from photos taken at/near the turn of the century.
