Romantic Tales - Contemporary/Essay/Rambling on About Love

Love, a beautiful word…. But a word that is misused, misused by men to have what they want. Using the shadow of love without its substance. To love a woman and be loved by her is the greatest of all gifts… but we mistake lust for love, we think with our minds instead of our hearts, we see the temporary and not the permanent..

How much would you give up for the one you love? Is it a convenience for you? I love you on my terms sort of deal? Only when I want do I come to you? That is not the way. It cannot be the way! We are meant for much more…we give, we take, we share… we share our lives, our moments, our all.

True we need out moments of solitude away from the one we love, but this is good, it gives space to grow...and we need to grow, to achieve all we can be . And in our own growth we grow with the ones to whom we give our hearts. We grow in our own ways yet we grow together. Every stage of growth is celebrated by our partners. Yet we prevent this growth, we forget the other person is an entity like ourselves. A life like we are, not something we should trample all over. Yet we trample all over the others life, no caring of the destruction we bring. Why don’t we honour the other person in our lives?

Look at him now? He stares at her like she is an object! An object??!! How dare he? How can he equate her to a vase, a trophy, a car? She has feelings too, a heart willing to share. A heart that will break if he is permitted to continue his evil designs.

I see him looking around the room, looking at the youthful college girls that have come in. What is he thinking in the mind of his? Does he imagine himself talking to one of them even as he talks to the lady in front of him?

What does he want...it drives me crazy to think about it….yet I must, I must know. I need to know. He brings discredit to all of us. He will hurt this young lady and then she will not trust others of his species again. She will hate…or at the least keep men at a comfortable distance , a distance that is hard to overcome. Yet a barrier she needs to feel comfortable with a male.

He hurts all with his nature, to use this young woman and throw her away. I said he liked her…I am sure I said that, Maybe he does like her, but not enough to be there always for her…if he truly loved her, he would not see the other woman in the room… His whole attention would be on the one in front of him, she would be his whole world, his life…

You would tell yourself "So dear I love her that with her, All deaths I could endure. Without her, live no live." To borrow a line from that immortal playwright Shakespeare. Oh how truly did he say -

"I love thee, I love but thee
With a love that shall not die
Till the sun grows cold
And the stars grow old."

For we must never forget that the most precious possession that ever comes to a man in this world is a woman's heart.

Yet we often forget this and we hurt and break that heart, we throw out this great gift. And for those who do value this gift, it is jaded by those who have had this gift thrown out on them.
