I have always been an avid reader. It is my avarice for reading that started me writing. I started running out of reading material. My favorite authors write only one book a year or one book every few years. I found I did not like the writing styles of authors that put out two or three books a month. Even the books that come out every month are not my favorite reads. I don't like formulated romance books. My favorite authors have unique stories with
developed What three things do you enjoy about writing in your sub-genre - historical romance? (1) Making my characters real. I make my characters live in a time different from today, but real in feelings, hopes, loves, and society. Time has advanced and technology has advanced but society, emotions, and morality has not. I was adopted by the Lakota Dove Clan and named 'Keeper of the Stories' for my efforts in writing and supporting the true spirituality and culture of indigenous people. It was not for writing the story of the Bear River Massacre alone. My research into the factual lifestyles of our indigenous peoples is reflected into the Native American characters in my books. Romance Author Interview "Most important to bring a character to life is to feel the character as your friend, neighbor, lover, etc. If the character doesn't feel real to you as the author, you have already lost your reader. Take your characters from real life." Discover more about
