Note the long gown adorning baby Elizabeth. The gown is finely trimmed with lace and three tiers of ribbon at the bottom of the garment. The fine-boned features of Libbie can be seen in the photographs of her daughters as adults.
The gown worn by the infant is long, as the one above, however, you will note the gown is of a simpler design. There is some lace that trims the hem of the garment. The tilt of the mother's head does give us a wonderful example of the hair style worn at the turn of the century. Long locks are twisted and knotted at the top of the head.
