Mad About Mia
by Millie Criswell
www.milliecriswell.com

Ballantine/Ivy, January 2004

Millie Criswell's books are like a plate of gnocchi with spicy meat sauce. They melt in your mouth. There's enough kick to make the dish interesting and you always want more. That's certainly the case with Criswell's latest book, Mad About Mia.

At 5 foot 3 inches tall, Mia DeNero's family thinks she's too petite to open her own bodyguard business. But her family's disapproval has never stopped her before. Business is slow to say the least until geeky-looking Nick Caruso walks through the door needing her services as a bodyguard.

An author, he's writing a book about the mob and wants her to protect him. In order to offer him complete 24-hour protection, Mia invites him to move in with her, and he soon gets to know her quirky immediate family and extended family. But Mia has a feeling there's another side to Nick. When he finally shows his true identity, her family's already fallen in love with him and so has Mia, but will his ruse cost him the woman of his dreams?

Mia's one of the pluckiest and bravest heroines you're likely to meet in a romantic comedy. Mad About Mia is sort of like the Untouchables meets the Godfather with a little bit of Cagney and Lacy thrown in for fun.
