Chicago, Illinois

February 4-6, 2005
www.loveismurder.org
(to review material from 2004)

Conferences are an important part of your self-development as a writer.  In addition to participating in the educational components of a conference, you have the chance to meet other writers and professionals in the business.

7th Annual Love is Murder Conference

An exciting schedule is set for the upcoming conference. Evelyn Hopkins shared information from several of their press releases regarding their program.  Here are a few excerpts.

Who Should Attend the Conference?

Writers who want the "inside scoop" on mysteries.  This includes cozy to noir, romantic suspense, horror, and thrillers.  A panelist of authors, editors, agents, publishers, and criminal justice experts, police officers, attorneys, and more will be available to share their knowledge to writers.

Some Talent Attendees Will Meet

Featured Speaker - Anne Perry

"Scotland's Anne Perry (www.anneperry.net), author of three historical mystery series featuring amnesiac William Monk, 19th century policeman Thomas Pitt, and the Reavley family in the latest WWI-era series, will be featured speaker at the Conference."

International Guest of Honor - Crime Novelist Stephen Booth

Mr. Booth (www.stephen-booth.com) will be speaking at the conference.  He will also be donating autographed first editions of his three latest novels.

Creating Compelling Heroines
by Robert W. Walker

The Voice or one’s female-lead detective or PI in crime fiction--above all elements-- must be consistent, just as your choice of words, control of weak qualifiers, control on adverbs and adjectives, down to your grammatical skill, all impact on VOICE.

More Details

Early registration rates (by December 31, 2004) for the full conference is $195 or $85 per half-day.  For more information call 847-394-0783.
