Just Between Us
by Tori Carrington
Harlequin Blaze, December 2003

If you thought the first two books of the Kiss and Tell series by Tori Carrington were hot, keep a fire extinguisher handy when you read, "Just Between Us," the third, and sadly, the last book in the very steamy series about four friends, Layla Hollister, Reilly Chudowski, Mallory Woodruff and Jack Daniels. Don't forget, it's called a Harlequin Blaze for a reason!

Layla's wedding is off to the handsome plastic surgeon Sam Lovejoy. Reilly has stopped speaking to her hunky honey, Ben Benardo, after he practically orders her to sell her pastry shop, Sugar `N' Spice, and work for him at his trendy restaurant called Benardo's Hideway. Mallory couldn't be happier because the outspoken documentary filmmaker did not relish the idea of wearing a pink, ruffled bridesmaid's dress or of giving up her friend's filling pastries.

Mallory lives life on her own terms and is accustomed to breaking the rules, even the one the three friends made immediately after they met. That little rule stated the three women wouldn't sleep with sexy newspaper columnist Jack, if they wanted to maintain their friendship. Of course, that didn't stop Mallory who hopped into bed with the gorgeous man just days after they met. Three years later, Jack wants to blow the lid off their clandestine affair and threatens to stop having sex with Mallory if she doesn't kiss and tell all to her friends. The war of wills between the two stubborn bedmates almost spirals out of control and threatens to drive Mallory away.

Jack wants more out of the relationship than Mallory is willing to give, but will the lure of nonstop hot sex be enough to win Mallory's love? With their trademark complex, likeable characters and thrilling subplots, the husband and wife team of Lori and Tony Karayianni have cooked up their hottest book yet.

JUST BETWEEN US by TORI CARRINGTON (December, Harlequin Blaze, 249 pp., $4.50) DD
