Into My Heart
by Hila Yerushalmy
© 2003 by Hila Yerushalmy

Out of the picture and into my heart you came,
without a word I took you
and loved you like I haven't done forever.
On my own I love you, when I am all along I pretend to kiss you,
I believe in you so much, that even though
you are not real - I can almost touch you...
just into my heart and you.

Over the Ocean

Over the Ocean
out there is the one thing
the one thing that I want most,
that golden man who've I longed for forever
will he ever be mine, I ask
will I ever make that move and
cross that ocean
will I ever win that happiness, that smile,
that glitter
in a year it will happen
I tell myself
in a year.

About the Poet

We wish to thank Hila for submitting portions of her work.  We asked Hila to share a little bit about herself.  Hila told us that "Into My Heart" and "Over the Sea" are two of her favorite poems.  She mentioned that "Over the Ocean" was the first poem she had written in English and is the first of her poems submitted to a competition.  Hila resides in Israel and finds the beauty and love that her country has and puts it in writing.

We have also included an excerpt from her response.

"I love poetry, and I have been writing since I was eight years old.  Since I am not a "big talker", I write...My biggest inspiration is my family and friends."

Hila has had some of her work published on www.poetry.com.
