Columns for Submission

You may choose to write in one or more categories if you wish. Some writers may wish to target a specific area to "specialize" in a topic. The categories open for submission are:

Romantic Tales:   Mini articles on a specific topic or issue in a particular historical period.

Romance & You (Articles)General self-help articles and interviews are encouraged. We are not interested in articles on dating, relationships, sex, etc.  Instead, take the opportunity to introduce interesting and unique topics to the REA.com reading community.

History & CulturesArticles that provide a general overview of a historical period or culture.

The VictoriansMini or longer articles on topics related to thewpeB.jpg (11290 bytes) Victorian period (America and Great Britain).

The ArtsMini or longer articles on topics in the arts.

The Writing CraftFor authors and writers who have successfully published, this is the category for you.  Share your knowledge in a range of areas from the publishing business to the craft of creating a great story.

Travel:  We particularly encourage submitting articles/photos of interesting places where you live.  If you are planning to travel to a historical location or event, take photos and write an article about your trip.  Take a look at Travel Adventures with Rita for an example.

Note: Submitters will need to Include a listing of references on any researched article. Include book title, author, publisher, and published date.

Format Requirements

Review the category that you are interested in submitting work. Note that for on-line reading, paragraphs should be shorter. We recommend breaking up articles by creating subtitles within the article. This is visually more appealing and easier for readers to read on-line.

Articles can be sent either via e-mail or as a Word attachment. If you have clip art or photos to include, feel free to send those along as well. Photos taken by third parties will be acknowledged if you provide that information.

Guest Columnist Information

We include a photo, bio and web-site link (if available) to articles submitted by writers. REA.com desires to have our Guest Columnists receive maximum exposure for their submissions.

Submission Process

Query an idea for a category BEFORE submission for editorial approval. Include an approximate completion date of your article.  Also, provide a sample of your writing.

NOTE:  We do accept previously published work as long as the author has full rights to the manuscript.

General Edits and Editorial Requests

Articles submitted to REA.com are subject to editorial changes. In addition, REA.com reserves the right to ask a writer to make changes to an article. Please be conscientious with your work to ensure that articles are free of typos, grammatical errors and references are properly documented.

Article Rights

All rights to submitted articles revert back to the writer. However, a copy of your article will remain in electronic form on REA.com only in archive permanently. Review the writers guidelines and submission agreement for details. The links are below.
