Fun for Fall!

"Autumn to winter, winter into spring,
Spring into summer, summer into fall,
So rolls the changing year, and so we change;
Motion so swift, we know not that we move"
Dinah Mulock Craik, Immutable

For those of us living in areas where the changing seasons are a part of life, we are gifted with something special.  The passing of time is marked by nature.

Fall is a particularly pleasant time of the year.  We observe the changing leaves, birds flying in formation as they prepare to fly south, squirrels foraging for the coming winter, and so many other signs that cooler weather is approaching.

Fun Activities for Fallwpe5.jpg (17069 bytes)

Great fun can be had in the Fall.  Pumpkins are ready to be harvested.  You can always pick up your pumpkins at the local market. If you can make the time, however, visit your local pumpkin patch and everyone join in the fun.

Children and adults alike can enjoy the task of carving pumpkins with fluid designs, faces, or whatever creative idea comes to mind.wpeD.jpg (12952 bytes)

Raking a river of golden leaves can be an activity for the entire family.  When is the last time you stomped through a pile of leaves.  The unique crunch and crinkle is music to the ears of those who listen.

A must activity is taking a stroll or bike ride in a park when theCgh50038.jpg (77690 bytes) leaves are at peak.  The sky is never bluer than when it is a backdrop to vibrant shades of red, gold, and brown.

Consider taking a small bag along and doing a leaf treasure hunt.  Taking the time to really look at the individual beauty of each leaf is soul quenching.  Press your collection of leaves and put them under glass as decoration.

Take the time and make plans to get outside and enjoy the changing season.  The winter will soon be upon us, and you don't want to miss out on the blessings that the changing season gives.

I hope you enjoy your Fall!
