What misconceptions do men and women have about "finding" their soul mate?

I’m so glad you brought that up. The most common misconception is the fact that some people think there’s "the one" out there for them and in reality there are many "the one’s" out there for them.

There are special people that come into your life and some of them aren’t necessarily romantic, yet they are a certain "kind" of soul mate. The three kinds – karmic, companion and twin soul – all make up a part of your life’s journey. None is more important than the other. All have reasons for coming into your life and it is your mission to find out what that reason is and what kind of soul mate they are so that you can accept them for the purpose they have come into your life for.

Once you have learned how to do that, it makes life so much simpler. I had a woman not too long ago who wanted to know who her soul mate was. I told her that she had many. She didn’t quite accept that. She went on to tell me about her husband who abused her and I told her that he was her companion soul mate (or one of them), whether she wanted to believe it or not. She questioned this, totally opposing my view. I explained to her that he had come into her life for a reason and it was up to her to find out what that was.

Companion soul mates come into your life for intimacy and/or childbearing. Somewhere along the way, an event happens that terminates the relationship. But, they are still a soul mate and the bond will never go away, no matter what that event was. When relationships break up and both partners go separate ways, it’s time for that relationship to end. The reason why that person came into the other’s life has been resolved and it’s time to move on. Most people don’t understand that theory, so it’s an uphill battle sometimes trying to explain it. But, it makes sense if you really think about it.

In today's society, do you think it is more difficult to discover your soul mate? Why or why not?

Not if you know what to look for in a soul mate. Sometimes people look too hard and that’s not the way to go about it. If you are actively looking for a soul mate, that means you’re not in the right place to be. If you are secure with yourself and can make yourself happy by becoming involved in things that make YOU happy, you tend not to focus on finding someone else to make you happy. And, when you get to this place in your life, that’s when your soul mate enters. If you are actively looking and not letting it "happen" on its own, it’s just not going to have the results you’re looking for.

Briefly share with readers about your two other books and your column work.

Oh my goodness, my little e-book babies. After "Romancing the Soul" was published, I decided there was more to be said about the soul mate experience. "Romancing the Soul" is a collection of soul mate stories; whereas, "How to Find and Keep Your Soul Mate," is a more how-to book on soul mates.

"101 Things You Never Knew About Soul Mates" are facts I have discovered on my own about the soul mate experience, plus facts that I have gathered in my research. Both books are not long, but they get to the point. "How to Find and Keep Your Soul Mate" is almost 50 pages long; whereas "101 Things You Never Knew About Soul Mates" is about 30 pages and will be free with the purchase of either of my other books. I plan for a Valentine’s Day release (2006) for the latter one, only if anyone buys either of my other books before this last one is released, I will send them a free copy when it is.

My columns are a work of love. I self-syndicate and they appear on hundreds of websites because once I send in a column to one, other webmasters looking for free articles are welcome to use it as long as the bio is intact. I call it free promotion. My work has appeared on several online dating sites and other relationship and new age websites. And, it has resulted in sales. This has been one of my best promotional strategies.
