Thought of the Week: December 29, 2002

Welcome the New Year

Whether you are planning an evening out on the town or entertaining in the comfort of your home, New Year’s Eve is a special night. It is the time to reflect upon the blessings, challenges, and accomplishments of the past year. It is also a time to make plans for the months to come.

Contemplating the Past and Plan for the Future

Each year brings change to our lives. The important thing to remember is to learn from our experiences. Take the opportunity on New Year’s Eve and/or morning to contemplate your challenges and look beyond any disappointments. Re-access your plans and come from a different angle to accomplish your goals. And make sure to keep a positive attitude. We all can meet with success if we keep our vision to the higher road.

Be Flexible for Change

One constant that we learn as we mature is that nothing remains the same. No matter how well we plan or anticipate the unexpected, we know that speed bumps are along our road. Don’t get discouraged. If we endeavor to remain flexible, we have the ability to make change.

What changes do you want to make in your life for the next year? We recommend you write down your goals including the people and resources needed to accomplish those goals. Life is about change, and when you remain flexible, you can allow yourself to "go with the flow" to reach your destination.

Words for Those of Vision

"They can conquer who believe they can." Vergil

"The secret of success is constancy to purpose." Benjamin Disralli

"You will never "find" time for anything. If you want time you must make it." Charles Buxton.

We wish you a happy New Year!
