Article on the fashions of Queen Elizabeth I and her court.  Includes actors in period fashion from the Bristol Renaissance Faire!

Excitement of the Joust
For the viewer, you could imagine what a medieval period joust must have been like. Peruse photos from the Joust held at the Faire.

Renaissance Faire Eliz Court Vacant.jpg (68971 bytes)
An empty stage where the past will come alive.  Daily, the court of Queen Elizabeth I is recreated by the talented actors at the Faire.

The noblemen of Elizabeth I all request to be her dance partner.

Renaissance Faire Glass Making.jpg (51744 bytes)In addition to the many shops, visitors can embrace the educational programs at the Faire.

This shop provided a detailed presentation on glass making.  The fires were constantly burning!  The artist makes fine glassware.  (Note the hanging glass chimes above the presenter's head.)

Renaissance Faire Ladies Singing.jpg (61545 bytes)A wide variety of music could be heard everywhere at the Faire.  These ladies had sung like angels!

(The group of ladies are the Consorte Bella Donna.  For more details about this singing group, check out Consorte Bella Donna in our People You Should Know.)

Greenery.jpg (56054 bytes)

This was a solitary spot that caught Melissa's eye.  The greenery was lovely among the sophisticated finery of costumes.

Renaissance Faire Walk Way.jpg (69300 bytes)

There are numerous shops to visit.  Melissa's favorite was the bookstore and fan shop!
