Romantic Tales - Contemporary

A Reverie to Love
by Shannon Randall

When I saw the blue seas of your eyes, I knew we were destined to share eternity as one. Your smile warmed my soul. The deep timbre of your voice embraced me with words of endearment and devotion. My wondering ceased, removing any doubt as to fate’s delay in our introduction.

Hidden beneath the canopy of fall’s gift of color and fragrance, we Cgh50075.jpg (131272 bytes)meandered pathways of gold. Timidly we opened our hearts, sharing secrets that before had remained unspoken. Family gatherings and daily talks and our defenses began to slip away. The cold breath of winter whispered across the meadows, but we were content. Gentle caresses melt into passion as we soar to our portion of Heaven.

The icy fingers of winter slip away beneath the tears of rain and the beams of life-giving sunlight. Like the first bud of spring, our love blooms to perfection. Crossing the bridge as man and wife, webride.JPG (36025 bytes) walk forward with the wind at our backs.

The gales of life toss and tumble our souls, but we remain steadfast. Linked by a man’s strength and a woman’s fortitude, we endure. We change. We cry. We crest. Love takes on a burnished cast forged in the fire of experience.

Slower in movement, but free in spirit, love continues still. Reflections on the amorous nature of youth, love has deepened and is deeper. When fate determines our release from the bonds of humanity, our love will soar to our portion of Heaven.

When I saw the blue seas of your eyes, I knew we were destined to share eternity as one.
