Romance...the stories we love to read!

Romantic Tales provides a terrific opportunity for authors to share their stories with the RomanceEverAfter.com community. Here are some of the benefits authors can enjoy having a story published on the site…

© Fine-tune the craft of romance writing using a short story format.

© Authors published in specific categories can have fun writing in another romance category.

© Introduce your work to an increasing number of readers.

WRITER’S GUIDELINES

Submit your best work! Your manuscript should have gone through the revision process and be free of typos and grammatical errors.

Manuscripts

· Categories for submission
We welcome short stories in the following romance categories:  Historical, Medieval, Colonial America, Regency, Scotland, U.S. Civil War,  Western, Contemporary, Suspense, and Ancient.

· Guidelines for story content

We will not consider any material that has a "dark" edge, paranormal, time travel, occult, ghosts, etc.  Since young adults may access Romantic Tales, stories should not contain sex scenes or strong sensuality.  Kisses and embraces are fine.  Stories should not include violence (graphic battle/fighting scenes or murder) or profanity.

Don’t underestimate how well emotion, tenderness, and perception can be used to create an electrifying romance.  The slant of romance fiction presented in Romantic Tales may be considered primarily "light" or "sweet" in nature.

· Format of manuscript
Story length should not exceed approximately 5,000 words.

We may consider longer submissions.   If you would like to submit a longer story, send it to us.  However, include a brief description of the story and word length.

Please note that the publisher may make minor editorial changes to your story as it deems appropriate.

Title centered on first page, byline, no page numbers.  If available, indicate your copyright statement at the end of the story.

Submission Details

· We do accept previously published work as long as the author has full rights to the manuscript.

· Include in your cover letter or e-mail:  identify the romance category of your story and word length.

· Manuscripts may be sent to the Managing Editor as follows:

Electronically: Send manuscript as a file attachment in MS Word via e-mail to  mhamilton@romanceeverafter.com. Indicate type of submission in "subject" line of e-mail. (Example: "Romantic Tales Submission")

· Author/Writer Submission Agreement

· If we publish your work, we will contact you via e-mail with any recommended changes and publication date.
