Our lives changed on September 2, 1992 when we met on a blind date at a
restaurant called Del Debbios in Lisle, Illinois. It was like a scene in a romance movie. My sister had set me up
with her boyfriend’s roommate. We were meeting them at the restaurant for
dinner. I remember how nervous I felt when my sister whispered to me that they
had arrived. I turned around and there he was. Dan stood there with a heart
stopping smile. It was the first thing I saw. When the evening was over, I
couldn’t stop thinking about him. He was a very appealing man, and his
personality was out of this world. Dan called me the next day and the rest is
romance history. We really enjoyed dating. Living close to Chicago, we would go for long walks
on the waterfront along Lake Michigan. At the close of every One thing I really love about Dan is his thoughtful nature. Many times he
brought me flowers for no reason except to see me smile. One time when I wasn’t
feeling well, Dan came to my home and brought me a smallTeddy Bear as a

April 30, 1995 to celebrate our special day. My brother, who is a minister,
conducted the ceremony at the church where I had attended for over 22 years. At
our reception, we danced to John Michael Montgomery’s, "I Swear" for
our first dance. We sailed away on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico for our fairy
tale honeymoon. Dancing beneath a starlit sky, awakening to breathtaking
sunrises, and sightseeing was so romantic. As I write this, we have been married for six years. We have faced job
changes, passing of family members and the usual challenges of everyday life. It’s
in the good times and not so good times that we appreciate the support and love
we have for each other. Since that night in 1992 when our eyes first met, we
were destined to be together. Our love was meant to be. Return to Return to
