Romantic Memoirs-
The Joy of Romantic Journaling

Preparing Your Romantic Journal

The materials you require to prepare your Romantic Journal will depend on the format and type of journal you select. The materials outlined here will be based on selecting Format III: Romantic Journaling with Scrapbooks. As we have already mentioned, you can modify the format types to fit your time and Romantic Journaling goals.

STEP 1: Supplies

A Scrapbook*: The type of scrapbook you purchase will depend on your personal preference. We prefer the old-fashioned paper scrapbooks.

*Note: If you select Format I or Format II, purchase a journal or diary. Your local bookstore or gift shop will have many different styles and shapes from which to choose.

Other supplies:

●Tabs to hold photographs

●Pen (color of your choice)

●Two Way Scotch Tape

●Paper with romantic border or picture (flowers, angels, etc.)

●Photograph of you and your love. (If Engagement Romantic Journal, use your engagement photograph)

●Written account of how you met on a separate piece of paper. (Use romance-oriented paper such as flowers, hearts or angels.)

STEP 2: Romantic Journal Preparation

1. Place the photograph on the first page of the journal. Identify each of your names, the date and occasion, if applicable, of the photograph.

2. Tape the "how you met" write up on the page following the cover.

3. You’re ready to go!

Helpful Hints

Record the events chronologically.

Print off some color clip art. You can use photographs,
cartoons, and works of art to complement your journal.

Record your love reading a selection of poems to you. Place the CD or tape with your journal. (If your man is a poet or musician,
encourage him to write an original piece for you).
