Romantic Memoirs-
The Joy of Romantic Journaling

I Don’t Have Time for Romantic Journaling!

Creating a Romantic Journal can be a lot of fun. It is also a terrific way to document the memories you want to last a lifetime and beyond. Keep in mind you don’t have to spend a lot of time maintaining a Romantic Journal. Depending on your approach, you can spend as little as five minutes a day romantic journaling.

The Secret to Success
You can find the time for Romantic Journaling. The secret to successfully creating a Romantic Journal is to decide on the format of your journal.

For those of you with an artistic flair, you may already have a format in mind for your Romantic Journal. For those of us who need a little guidance, one of these format styles may fit comfortably into your busy schedule. Consider mixing the formats to correspond with what you want to include in your Romantic Journal.

Format I: Words of Love

The Words of Love format is the simplest to do - keep a diary of the romantic moments you experience with your love. Your entries can be done daily, weekly or monthly. Include every romantic moment or be topic selective in your diary entries.

Want to be topic specific?

Only record the times you go out together. (Dinner, party, theatre, and other social events)

Only record the romantic words spoken and shared. Describe how you felt at that moment.

Format II: Words & Photographs

The Words & Photographs format includes supplementing your diary entries with periodic photographs. When you record an event with details like location, time, and your feelings, a photograph adds to the depth of the documentation.

We particularly encourage taking photographs of the seemingly non-event activity. Imagine taking a photograph of your love sitting by the lake where you shared a picnic and words of devotion. Warm memories will bring that moment alive twenty years down the road!

Format III: Romantic Journaling with Scrapbooks

Romantic Journaling with Scrapbooks is the most comprehensive approach to Romantic Journal creation. In place of a journal or diary, you use a scrapbook as the backdrop for all your journal entries and material additions.

The items to incorporate with the written portion of your Romantic Journal can include poems, quotations, photographs, souvenirs (tickets/pamphlets/cards), and newspaper clippings of local and world historical events. Although Format III may be more time consuming than the other formats, it is a priceless heirloom that will be treasured in the years to come.
