The Modern Renaissance Woman

Melissa Hamilton Discusses MRW

Why did I create "The Modern Renaissance Woman" column?

Because there is no magazine or site that specifically focuses on the mental and spiritual development of women in a simple, non-academic format.

Like the Renaissance movement of history, I want to invite women of the 21st century to begin a new stage of growth for women.

The Modern Renaissance Woman is a lady who possesses a wide range of knowledge, exudes self-confidence, and embraces the beauty that is her femininity.  It is my hope that the new column will meet the needs of these amazing women.

What is a Modern Renaissance Woman today?

The Modern Renaissance Woman is one who is passionate about making herself the best person she can be.  She wants to be exposed to new people, places, and knowledge.  She also recognizes her inner romantic self.

The challenge is that in today's society, her ability for growth and self-identity can get lost in the fast-paced schedule that is life.

What type of topics am I planning to cover in The Modern Renaissance Woman column?

It is my endeavor to bring women topics with real nuts and bolts applications to enhance their lives.  It is my intention to present information in a non-academic, easy-to-read format so knowledge and ideas can be absorbed quickly.  Here are a few topics that are to be presented:

Explore Your Artistic Side
The Beauty Within
Secrets to Strong Self-Esteem
Build Your Literary Knowledge Without Reading One Book!

Like the Renaissance of history, I want to introduce a new movement to widen our knowledge, experience, and reach out for change, even if it is one small step at a time.  Through this column, I intend to address a range of ideas whereby every woman can walk away with something tangible that will enrich her life.

Who is the Modern Renaissance Woman?
What are the characteristics of a Modern Renaissance Woman?

Do I live a "Modern Renaissance Woman" lifestyle?

I suppose you could say I was living the philosophy of a Modern Renaissance woman and didn't recognize it until recently.

I inherited my thirst for learning from my parents.  Through the years, I've reached out to expand my knowledge in a myriad of areas.  As such, I've grown tremendously both mentally and spiritually.  History, literature, writing, photography, music, nature - all and more are a part of who I am now.  I want to share that positive experience with others.

What about women who have little time to devote to themselves?  A husband, job, and children take up a lot of a woman's time.

Women are the busiest people, particularly those in their 30s and 40s raising children.  It can be tough maintaining a balance when it seems that every second is allocated.

I wanted to introduce a column that would give women a variety of interesting details, resources, and information to further develop themselves without a significant time investment.  I believe that "The Modern Renaissance Woman" will accomplish that goal.
