What do you find romantic? I think you can find almost anything romantic, if you're with the right person. It's not the surroundings or the material things that make your heart sing, it's the pleasure you derive from sharing moments with the one you love. Why do you like reading and writing romance? Reading and writing romance allows me to escape into the world of the hero and heroine, if only for a short time. I enjoy the diversion from the harsh realities of our modern world, and I know that the story will have a "happily-ever-after" ending. What characteristics do you like to incorporate into your heroines? I like to give my heroines the strength and courage to overcome the challenges they encounter as they pursue their goals. A heroine must be able to hold her own with the strong hero she loves. In some of your 2002 Silhouette Desire releases ("Cassies' Cowboy Daddy," "Cowboy Boss," etc.) many of your stories feature a rancher or cowboy as the hero. What do you like about having cowboys and ranchers as your heroes?I have loved cowboys, ranches, and rodeos since I was a little girl. I grew up watching TV shows like Roy Rogers and Sky King and movies like McLintock with John Wayne. My father always had a pony or two around and my husband and I used to have horses and raise livestock. It was natural for me to make cowboys and ranchers my heroes. You have written numerous books under the Silhouette Desire line. What do you enjoy about writing for the Silhouette Desire line? The Silhouette Desire line allows me to incorporate provocative sensuality with fast-paced, deep emotions tempered with a little humor. It has been an exciting year for you with four novels published in 2002 and more to come in 2003. Tell us about your 2002 and 2003 releases. I have four novels being published in 2002. MATERNALLY YOURS was released in February, CASSIE'S COWBOY DADDY came out in May, COWBOY BOSS is my August book, and A LAWMAN IN HER STOCKING is due on bookshelves in November. It's been a whirlwind year and one that's kept me very busy, but I love every minute of it. I'm finishing up a LONE STAR COUNTRY CLUB continuity right now that will be released in July of 2003, and I'm working on my own three book series about three brothers on the Lonetree Ranch in Wyoming. What are your three favorite bookmarks (web sites)? There are so many that I like, but I would have to say that www.DitzyChix.com, www.Eharlequin.com, and of course, RomanceEverAfter.com are my three favorites. Kathie's family settled in southern Illinois from North Carolina in the early 1800s. Kathie shared a comment regarding her home. My mother's family migrated from Person Count in North Carolina in the early 1800's and settled the area where I live today. After parceling out a few acres here and there as wedding gifts, my husband and I live on the eight acres that remain as part of the old family homestead.
